The True Peace

"The first peace, which is the most important,
is that which comes within the souls of people

when they realize their relationship, their oneness,

with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize

that at the center of the universe dwells Wakan-Taka

(the Great Spirit), and that this center is really everywhere,

it is within each of us. This is the real peace,

and the others are but reflections of this"

About Yellow Canary....

Yellow Canary is part of a longer shamanic name bestowed upon me, Linda Munday, by spirit and the fae a few years ago. The full name is Yellow Canary Carries the Peace Message.  I was told during a shamanic journey that the peace message I would carry would be one of finding inner peace and wholeness. Having studied Shamanism since 2010, I have personally found a lot of inner peace and strength by reconnecting to nature and the spirit world in a magical way that I want to share with others. The living world and the nature spirits that reside therein have much to offer us at this time. They are guardians of the planet and they want us to re-align our spirit in tune with the earth's heartbeat and experience connection to source and the oneness of life.

In this fast paced modern world, we have lost our wondrous connection to the earth and nature. The importance of being connected to the earth in a magical way is summed by this wonderful saying by Native American Indian,Chief Luther Standing Bear:

"That is why the old Indian still sits upon the earth instead of propping himself up and away from its life giving forces. For him, to sit or lie upon the ground is to be able to think more deeply and to feel more keenly. He can see more clearly into the mysteries of life and come closer in kinship to other lives about him"

Our ancient ancestors would most definitely have been in tune with the earth as a living organism, building their sacred sites on points of powerful earth energies. This energy could have been used for a range of benefits from healing to expanding consciousness and spiritual renewal. Ancient sacred sites such as Stonehenge, Avebury and Glastonbury have been places of pilgrimage for thousands of years. Just  being present in these places has a profound healing effect and I am drawn to return time and time again. I take groups of people regularly to these places to celebrate solstices and equinoxes as well as to walk the landscape.

I consider that I started my spiritual journey towards Shamanism from birth. Having always been very intuitive and psychic I naturally had great interest in the spirit world. However, it wasn't until my late teens that I experienced a powerful psychic opening. At the time, it was quite challenging as suddenly everything I thought I knew became very clear. I could see things as they really were rather than as presented. It was initially very difficult to handle but led me to the practice of yoga and meditation. These spiritual practices enabled me to balance myself and to feel more at ease with this new form of consciousness. I thought initially that I would be become a yoga teacher but spirit had other things in mind for me. As I continued through life I got married, studied Illustration at university and brought my son up. It wasn't until I was in my forties that I became drawn to energy healing and initially trained as a Reiki healer.  One day my Reiki teacher brought a drum in from Peru. It had belonged to a shaman and inside had shamanic tools. When I started to beat the drum I found myself going into trance. It seemed the most natural thing in the world. So my teacher suggested I look into shamanic training. It was some years later that I encountered Howard and Elsa Malpas in Glastonbury who run the Warrior in the Heart Foundation. They are the most incredible humble teachers and I went on to study with them for many years completing my shamanic practitioner course, soul regeneration and medicine wheel training.

As a fully qualified shamanic practitioner, I can offer one to one shamanic healing sessions both in person and by distance healing. For more information on shamanic healing click here. I can also offer Reiki healing, again on a one to one basis and by distance. I also do Reiki attunements. So if you are interested in learning Reiki and becoming a healer yourself then click here to find out more.

I also do workshops and journey circles connecting people to spirit through a range of different techniques such as journeying, guided meditation, rituaI work, trance dance and drumming. We will invite the world of the nature spirits into our life and listen to the wisdom they have to give us at this time.

I will be very happy to hear from you if you have any questions, feel free to contact me via this site.

Blessings to you

Winter Solstice 2018 at Stonehenge

What a fantastic celebration at Stonehenge we had on 22nd December 2018. The weather was mild and although we had some cloud the sun did eventually peak up over the top  for a lovely sunrise.

The Winter Solstice actually happened on Friday 21st December at 10.23 pm. So we welcomed the new sunrise the following morning. As ever the druids performed their special ceremony in the centre of the stones. To add to the atmosphere, there was an almost full moon positioned over the top of the stones which set just before the sunrise.. So the full moon energy in the sign of Cancer was electric. The moon reached its complete fullness that evening.

Glastonbury as a place of healing and transformation

During the spring and summer of 2018, I conducted a research project in Glastonbury for my MA in Cultural Heritage and Resource Management. This looked at how spiritual pilgrims experience Glastonbury as a place of healing and transformation.

I was extremely grateful to the thirty seven spiritual pilgrims who gave of their time sharing their extremely interesting experiences. It was such an exciting project to do as no previous research has ever been done of this nature in Glastonbury before.
